Cosmetic Dentistry and Veneers

in North London

Cosmetic (or Aesthetic Dentistry), is the branch of Dentistry that is used to improve or enhance the appearance of teeth

We can improve the appearance of:

  • Crooked, misshapen or damaged teeth

  • Yellow, discoloured or dark teeth

  • Spaced teeth

  • Short teeth

  • Long teeth

  • Overlapped or crowded teeth

  • Teeth affected by trauma (for example, a knock or blow to the tooth; a road traffic accident or a broken tooth after a fall).

There are many different options for your smile makeover depending on your wishes- from minimally invasive composite bonding,  teeth whitening, invisalign clear braces to veneers (see below) or crowns.

Veneers are made of a porcelain and have the advantage of looking completely natural and also being very durable

Veneers can last up to 15 years.

Patients should be aware that this is usually an irreversible process because it’s necessary to remove a small amount of enamel from your teeth to accommodate the shell.

Before considering cosmetic dentistry, we will need to ensure that your teeth and gums are healthy, as dental disease can lessen the life of your new smile. A dental examination will allow us to see if there are any problems that need addressing first.

Veneers are usually fitted across two appointments. Tooth preparation is minimal.  We will then take a mould and send it to a lab where will create your custom-fit, bespoke veneers.  We will apply temporary veneers to keep you going till your final set arrive.

Once your veneers are ready (usually about 2 weeks later) your dentist will attach your veneers to the front of your teeth, instantly improving  your smile.
